UVD Robots is an Odense company founded in 2016 as part of Blue Ocean Robotics, following an innovation project begun in 2014 with Odense University Hospital to fight hospital-acquired infections. Its UVD Robot drives autonomously through patient rooms, operating theaters and other spaces, using ultraviolet-C light to disinfect surfaces after manual cleaning. A dedicated pharma version serves pharmaceutical and life science production environments, and the robots are also used in schools, offices and other public facilities.
